This mirrors Kevin’s experience with the book as well. It’s fun to read a sex-positive comic book that’s neither a manifesto or pornographic. It feels distinctly less lurid than most of DC or Marvel’s offerings that try to touch on the subject matter and the most recent issue has one of the most succinct dissections of bedroom politics and feminism in any medium, much less a superhero comic.
ericafailsatlife:

I did get to finish Volume 7 today. This may be my favorite ongoing series- although it takes a while for each segment to come out. It’s really hard to explain why Empowered is good without sounding like a weirdo. Everything about the description sounds icky, but just trust me. If you don’t already, read it (as long as the parental advisory doesn’t apply to you, or if your parents think it’s okay to read a book that has sex but doesn’t show genitals and swearing that’s bleeped out.)
Anyway- when you do pick it up, maybe look past your excitement for a minute and remember that maybe you should just leave it for when you get home.
